A happy hello to amber, doitsu, lambo, libera, lundi, nerdrage, sebastian, & sugared from the recent friending meme! I'm eager to get to know you all better, and I hope you enjoy reading my sporadic entries (hopefully I'll update with some manner of regularity in the future).

A duck laid eggs in our garden earlier this month, dutifully sat on them until two of the seven hatched, and then ran off, never to return. It seems like the five eggs that didn't hatch are goners (alas :( ), but the two ducklings that did hatch were healthy and adorable! Since I'm hardly in any position to raise ducklings, we scooped up the abandoned youngsters and are now transporting them to their new home, where they will be nurtured by a preteen girl until they, uh, grow up, I guess? They'll be in good hands, sure, but I fear Jonas Brothers-inspired nomenclature lies in their future. Sorry I sold you into bad taste, little guys. I managed to snap a few photos of them before they left, though: ( BABY DUCKS OH MY GOD )
